A big thank you to everybody who attended the 2013 Conservative Renewal Conference.
We had over 200 guests and the Mrs Thatcher tribute and dinner was completely sold out.
Despite the fears of some, this was not about criticising personalities or plotting against the leader but, exactly as promised, we all spent the day discussing Conservative policies in a constructive and thoughtful way.
We had the broadest section of society I have ever seen at a Conservative event. Whilst there was still a pre-dominance of white middle-aged men, there were more women, more ethnic minorities than ever. We had a couple of UKIP people (perhaps being tempted back to the party!) and several more who were members of no political party yet. This re-engagement with ordinary people is exactly what the Conservative party needs if we are going to win elections in the future.
Douglas Murray in the Spectator and Cllr Victoria Borwick on Conservative Home give their thoughts on the day.
Next year promises to be bigger and better and we look forward to seeing everybody again.
